I share quite a few tips + tricks with you all on building your online presence. As much as I truly believe in all the methods I share here on the blog, I know that we all have to find our own ways to make things happen. Thus, today I’d like to be a bit more open & discuss my individual techniques for a change. Here are 5 steps I personally took to improve my own blog notably. Make a cuppa & have a read!
If you feel like your blog is not good enough- stop right there. We all are different & you get your readers because they like YOU. People can feel if you live someone else’s life, so stop looking at what others are doing & be yourself. You have so, so much space for improvement. Thus, even if you don’t feel satisfied with your blog right now- you’ll be. Just try your best, be honest with yourself & learn as you go, you’ll get there.
Once I started treating my blog as a business, I had this idea that the more posts I published- the faster, I’ll grow, but the time showed it’s not true at all. I go through seasons where I post as much as three times a week here on kotrynabass.com + publish two to three tutorials on my design page. However, I simply cannot keep up with this all the time & you know what, that’s absolutely fine. As long as I have new content published every week- I’ll be alright. It took a while for me to realise that, but it helped me be more focused & calm about the work I do.
I PUBLISHED MY GROWTH REPORTS
Since I started being more open about my blog’s stats, I also noticed that it got easier for me to track my growth and be more motivated. If you’ve been following my blog for a while, you’ll now that I share quarterly reports where I open up about my social media numbers + income. I love doing these reports & I highly encourage you to try creating at least one for yourself!
I SET MYSELF CLEAR INCOME GOALS
Let me be clear on this. Money is not what drove me to start a career in blogging. The truth is, back when I started my blog, I didn’t even know that someone can actually make money online. I kind of feel like feel like this was meant to be & I’m so thrilled to know that I’m able to pay my bills doing what I love the most. In the last 3, almost 4, years of blogging full-time I realised how important it is to be smart about your income. So if you haven’t yet- go ahead and create a spreadsheet. Put any amount you’re making money & set yourself a goal for the next year, month or week. It’ll help you set a business mind on your blog which will eventually allow you to expand further.
I NARROWED MY NICHE
I keep telling you this- you need to narrow your niche if you actually want to build a profitable, successful blog. Step 1: Examine your readers, see what they come to your website for. Step 2: Analyse yourself & figure out what excites you the most. If you’re still not sure how you can find the best niche for your blog, read this post here →.
Thanks for stopping by, friend! Hope you got inspired to try a bit harder with your own blog!
