We’ve all been there. Sometimes life gets just too busy to blog about it. Whatever it is- your full-time job, your personal crisis or endless client work- there comes times where we need to put our blog work on hold & it’s absolutely fine. It happens to everyone, and you have nothing to worry about if you prepare in advance. Let me tell you how I maintain my blogging business when my life gets a bit hectic & too fast to handle.
I must have a schedule. Otherwise, I go nuts. Naturally, I’m quite disorganised, but I’m working on it one step at a time. For this reason, I always have my notebook with me & list all the tasks I have to complete. I recently got into using Asana with my business partner aka my fiance & we now list all of our work together & assign different projects for each other. Checking those ‘ done ‘ marks by the end of the day is a genuinely satisfying feeling! Just give it a go & you’ll know what I mean :)
Why am I even talking about this you might ask? Well, having your workload planned upfront can help you to avoid those crises altogether. I understand that we cannot always stay on top of our game, but planning can really save you during those periods when nothing seems to be going according to your original plan. In case of crisis, you’d feel much more relaxed if you know that all of your work is still on the record. Even if you miss out on a few tasks, you can always reschedule them for the next available day. It’s important to know how much each task will require & how urgent they are. Put your priorities straight & know your schedule.
I USE SCHEDULING TOOLS
Using the right tools can help you save loads of time. Even when I have all my work under control, I still plan my social media ahead on the weekends so that I can focus on my clients’ work & business development during the week. Master these tools today & you will be so ready for when you go travelling or when next holiday season kicks in. Make your life easier! You can’t spend all day on Twitter & you know that. I WORK WITH OTHERS
Look, you can’t do this on your own. At least not all of the time. I feel so grateful to have my partner in crime by my side & he manages a huge part of my business. Not only I’m able to take some load off my shoulders, but I also receive some awesome tips & inspiration from him. Of course, I understand you might not have the other half that can help you every step of the way, but you can always hire a freelance assistant or ask your favourite fellow blogger to guest post on your blog. As much as I love being a solopreneur, I finally realised that I could do so much more if I learn to share my tasks with the others. There’s no shame in that.
I COMMIT
Are you sure you’re actually committed to your blog? I’m not trying to tell you off, but sometimes we lack time because we lack motivation. If you feel like it might be the case- make a promise to yourself to commit. Think about how having a successful blog could change your life, get motivated by reading these six books & simply allow yourself to listen to your guts.
