Everyone want to know how to create a dream life and the great thing is- we all have that answer within us…
“Instead of wondering when your next vacation is, maybe you should set up a life you don’t need to escape from.” – Seth Godin
Nope, I’m not gonna sit and lie about how perfect my life is. I’m working on it. I still think that I work too much and don’t spend enough time travelling, appreciating my loved ones or, in fact, just staying active.
Yet the truth is, I don’t really ever get tired of my life. It’s not always easy, but I know it’s heading somewhere. I think by now, I finally know how to create a dream life for myself.
It’s been five years since I worked for someone else and three years since my fiance joined me on this adventure.
We had a lot of ups and downs over the years, but this blogging business allowed us to experience the most beautiful things in our lives.
Not that long ago, it hit me- we have all that luxury of freedom that I don’t think, we appreciate fully.
You see, once we both started working for ourselves, for some reason we were trying to fit our days into a frame.
We rented an office space, we felt bad because we overslept and we wouldn’t allow date nights to happen earlier than Thursday.
That was tragic.
Seriously, we were miserable.
All that control we put on ourselves was killing us and we learned, in time, that we are able to break the rules if we want to and we would still be fine.
I’m writing this post at 11 pm. That doesn’t sound like fun, huh?
Yet the truth is, I know that the rest of the month and, in fact, the majority of our time this spring will be dedicated to travelling and preparing for the new adventures.
That is why I am excited to work my ass off when I have time. I feel fine pulling a few all-nighters and I don’t wake up feeling sorry for myself.
When Friday comes, I don’t look at it as a relief. I don’t need to escape from my work in order to feel happy and that’s what I call a success.
You see, I believe that your job should fit into your dream life. It shouldn’t be something that you do 90% of your time in order to have 10% of fun afterwards.
I don’t think that’s fair.
Back when I’ve started a blog, I didn’t realise that it’s going to change my life completely. I now know that it was the best decision I have ever made and I would do it all over again if I have to!
Blogging gives me butterflies in my stomach even after so many years. I always have something new to learn, something more to achieve and someone new to meet.
I’m not bragging here, I just want to make sure that you guys have the same satisfaction in your lives and if you don’t feel like you do, well maybe I can inspire you to make a change!
Imagine waking up and feeling excited about your day. Imagine being able to control your schedule and feeling purposeful every single day. Sounds about perfect, right? Well, the good news is that YOU can have it.
All you need to do is to take an action. Make a change. Go for your dreams and just STOP MAKING EXCUSES.
You have all of the power within you to create a life you don’t need to escape from. Here is a quick list of things you can do today in order to create your dream life:
• Stop doubting yourself, you’re awesome! Who cares what others might think! Constantly waiting for the approval from others is the worst thing you can do for yourself. You should really stop thinking about it right this minute. It’s exhausting.
• Start meditating. Seriously, it’s life-changing. Check out Headspace app if you need any help!
• Don’t be afraid to FAIL. Let me be honest with you- if you’re ready to go ahead and make that leap in your life- you might end up failing completely and regretting your decisions. Yes, that is a possibility. You’re absolutely right to be afraid to lose what you have right now, but the thing is- I would rather fail completely trying than stay in one place for the rest of my life without even taking a chance to know who I might have become.
• Be excited about the change. Change is exciting, yet it can also be super scary, huh? The thought of making a life change can be so intimidating that even though you want to be the master of your own destiny you’ll end up doing nothing or settling for less than you deserve simply because you’re so afraid of that change. But do you really want to let fear stop you from living your life to its full potential? I don’t think so.
• Just go for it! Go ahead and live your life! Risk, fall in love, travel, lose all your money, learn, grow, earn, come back to where you’ve started, but don’t settle for things that do not make you happy. You’re always one step away from living your dream life!
