My story is a bit different than most as I started my blog back when I was still studying at the university. I was able to support myself through student loans & scholarships which allowed me to experiment and grow my business without worrying about the income too much. Luckily, I didn’t have to look for a job after I graduated. By the time I was finished with my studies, my blog was already bringing me a full-time income which I felt and still feel so grateful for. I can only imagine how scary it might be to take a step & leave your comfort zone. However, you should know that going full-time in your blogging career can work out magically!
Let’s do this together:
Let me be straight with you- it’s not going to come easy. For at least a year into your new business- you’re going to work harder than you ever did before, you’re going to have sleepless nights, worry about your finances & study more than you did throughout your whole education, but it’s going to be so worth it. Good things come to those who hustle!
Set your priorities straight and you will soon notice that you prefer time spent on developing your new ideas over any party.
As soon as you make a decision to start preparing for going full-time in blogging, you should also open a separate savings account and start putting some money aside. Make sure to create yourself a budget & stick to it. It’s important that you learn to manage your money before you start financially relying only on the money you make online. Be smart about your finances & it your whole journey will become so much easier to handle!

Getting yourself somewhere without a clear plan can be tough. Get a piece of paper and start writing. Create yourself a schedule- set yourself a deadline for when you wish to start blogging full-time & list your current stats & the income you make. Count your expenses & figure out how much you should make in order to live comfortably. Be realistic here. I’m sure if you do well, you will grow your income in no time, but for now- stick to essentials only.
If you’re not making any income from your blog yet, what’s stopping you? Do your research on affiliate companies that offer high commissions, prepare a media kit & sent it out to the companies you’d love to work with. You can also come up with the service for your readers such as coaching, digital files download (e-books, e-courses, templates, etc). Think about what would benefit your community & listen to your gut.

Relying on only one stream of income is very risky, so it’s best if you come up with at least three different ways to make a steady paycheck. You don’t have to overwork in order to make a living working for yourself, but try & be flexible with what you offer. You will see what actually appeals to your audience over time, the beginning of your business is the opportunity to freely experiment & work out which streams bring the most income.
Growing a loyal tribe is crucial in running a successful online business. Focus on increasing your social media numbers, engage with your followers & make sure to leave comments on other blogs. Most importantly, start a newsletter list & get as many people signed up as possible. It can be the most powerful tool in selling your products & you should really concentrate on growing your list daily.
If you’re blogging about everything, you’re blogging about nothing at the same time. Find your niche & stick to it. I only saw a significant growth in my business once I started blogging primarily about blogs & blogging tips. By doing this, I also found my purpose in blogging community & that’s the best thing ever!
