You see, I usually post twice a week here on the blog + at least once a week on my design website. On top of that, I also work with my design clients, I complete custom web development projects, I answer endless emails from the brands and I, in fact, love spending time with my fiance, family & friends. It’s a lot I carry on my plate and lately, I’ve been feeling the need of a fresh start.
To be honest with you, I was running on the edge of burning out for the last couple of months now and with some pretty exciting personal plans ahead, I decided to take a couple of weeks off blogging + social media.
To my own surprise, it was the best decision ever and let me tell you why taking a blogging break is crucial to anyone…
I Needed Some Time To Breathe
Don’t get me wrong- I LOVE creating content here on the blog & I LOVE updating my social media followers about bits + bobs in my life.
However, sometimes it can get a bit overwhelming.
Even though blogging is one of the most exciting jobs I could have ever aimed for, documenting your life daily can be exhausting.
It seemed like lately, I’ve been thinking way too much about my online presence. Luckily, this break reminded me about the importance of living in a moment without worrying whether or not I have posted on Instagram today. It’s refreshing.
I Had To Prioritise
If you’re running an online business, you will probably know that it takes you to complete more than one task a day in order to get things going.
When you have one area of your business running a bit crazy, it’s OK to take a step back in the other ones & focus primarily on what’s important right now.
During the last two weeks, I got to fully concentrate on my blog design business and truly give my best to my clients.
I can’t wait to share the results with you all & I truly know that this all couldn’t have been possible with me worrying about blogging + social media at the same time.
I Wanted To Re-evaluate My Business
Working on EVERYTHING all the time makes it hard to actually analyse what could be improved in my own business.
This break showed me what areas I can be more productive at. By now, some of you know that my fiance is also a huge part of my online business and he was one the first ones to admit that we should reconsider our work management. Since now on, we will be making some more alterations, so I can focus more on what I love doing the most- blogging.
I Wanted To Get That Pleasure Back
By the end of this break, I was already craving to start posting again, to take pictures, sit down with a cup of coffee and get scheduling! Suddenly, I remembered why I got into blogging in the first place & I realised that this was exactly what I’ve been missing lately.
I Needed Time To Plan Ahead
I love creating plans for my blog + business, but with all of what’s been going on, I actually lacked time to sit down, open my calendar and list all of my plans, dreams & goals. Luckily, I finally got to do this during the break. The ideas simply started to pour like never before & I can’t wait to surprise you guys with the new content very soon!
Hope you enjoyed this post, folks! Let me know if you ever felt the need to take a break in blogging!
