I’m trying to take my Pinterest to a new level this year & finally get fully involved. While doing my research, I realised there are a few technical parts related to Pinterest success and one of them is setting rich pins for your website. If you’re not familiar with the term: Rich Pins are Pins that include extra information right on the Pin itself. It can help grow your Pinterest following significantly and with this method, it’s only going to take you a breeze moment to set up!

Step 1: Prepare Your Website

WordPress:
Pinterest validator requires you to have certain meta tags setup and installing a SEO plugin is the easiest way for you to set up. My personal favourite is YOAST Seo Plugin and it definitely works for this!

Blogger:
1. Go to Settings
2. Go to Search Preferences
3. Under Meta Tags, click Edit
4. Click ‘Yes’ on Enable Search Description?
5. Enter a description for your blog.
6. Click Save changes.
7. Turn on meta tags in Blogger to have better SEO. When you go to draft a new blog post or edit alreadt written one, you will see Search Description on the right. Click to edit & add a SEO-friendly description.
8. Now it’s time to dig into your HTML. Go to Template, then click Edit HTML. Find the code:

(Do it faster, simply click in the text box then typing CTRL or CMD+F to get the search option)

9. Right below insert this code:

<meta expr:content=’data:blog.url’ property=’og:url’/>

Replace beauty with the main topic of your blog.

Click Save Template.

Step 2: Visit Validator

Go to Pinterest’s Rich Pin Validator, insert the direct link to one of your blog posts + click VALIDATE

Step 3: Apply

If your pins were validated, select ‘ Apply Now ‘. When asked to choose Data Format, click HTML Tags and then click Apply Now again.

That’s it! You should receive an email confirmation shortly! That was easy, huh?
