If you guys have noticed- it’s been a bit quiet down here for the last week. Last week, we’ve got an amazing chance to do a little getaway with Visit Oslo & had the most amazing weekend spent exploring this beautiful city! Planning a trip down there soon? Make a cuppa & have a read then!
The city really has so much to offer! We were lucky enough to have our Oslo Passes sorted as we wanted to do so much. As it was quite cold outside, we decided to take the most out of an impressive selection of museums. We particularly loved visiting Astrup Fearnley, National Gallery and Viking Ship Museum, but the variety is really endless! Using Oslo Pass you can also get awesome discounts on other attractions or even get a free entrance to one of the most famous Oslo’s public swimming pools. As you guys know, I’m a big fan of swimming and this was an opportunity too good to say no to!
Even the weather wasn’t the best, we still enjoyed our walks around beautiful Old Town & absolutely fell in love with an impressing Oslo Opera House. It invites its visitors to climb its roof and enjoy panoramic views of Oslo and the fjord, all year round. Definitely worth a visit!
If you’re into Vintage shopping or are a huge coffee addict, Grünerløkka is the place for you! Here you will discover numerous little cafés, restaurants and bars that will fit every foodie dreams. It is also a popular shopping district, with original design shops and many vintage and second-hand stores.
Afterwards, you can pay a visit to The Munch Museum nearby. Its collection consists of paintings, graphical prints and drawings by Edward Munch, perfect if you’re interested in his work or simply want to explore more of Norwegian culture.
We’ve spent 4 days in Oslo and I feel like I only tasted a bit of it! It really is one of those cities you can go back to over & over again.
You guys know this is my favourite part! We were lucky enough to end up at the nicest spots for our meals and here are a few that I would recommend to everyone:
Døgnvill Burger Tjuvholmen– perfect place in the city centre with the best selection of burgers. We’ve tried some of the local beers here as well as ordered salmon & classic burgers which both were just divine.
Vippa– if you’re into street food, come here! Vippa Oslo is a new food, culture and education centre located at the edge of Vippetangen, right by the Oslo Fjord. We had tacos here and I can say these were hands down one of the best tacos I had in my life!
Sentralen restaurant– an awesome place where we had our last dinner in Oslo. It is an informal dining venue, serving food made from quality Norwegian ingredients and continental flavours. If you visit, definitely order king crab!!
Tim Wendelboe servers the most mind-blowing espresso, grab a cuppa if you’re around!
Getting around the city is pretty easy and if you stay central- you will be able to visit all the main attractions just fine. We were lucky enough to be hosted by Saga Hotel Oslo Central which I can highly recommend to everyone! The location is just perfect and they serve the most amazing, fresh breakfast every morning. You’re in for a treat, trust me!
