Since I died my hair grey I get questioned about my hair care routine all the time. People are mostly wondering how much damage it makes and how hard it is to maintain the colour. I already blogged about Keeping Bleached Hair Alive & today I’d love to share my latest favourites in haircare department:

If you’re thinking about going platinum let me tell you one thing- you won’t just have the colour you want in between the appointments at the hair salon. You might leave your hairdresser’s chair with a perfect shade but after a wash or two, it’s going to start fading. If you continue with your regular hair care routine after bleaching your hair, you will start getting those yellow shades in no time.

That’s why it’s a must to find a toning shampoo that works and even gets some extra toning goodies to use once in a while. Despite some of my old time favourites, I was lucky enough to try Ref. 343 Silver Shampoo as well as Platinum Color Mask from InHair.

I was very keen to try out a hair mask first as my hair get damaged a lot by toning shampoos & this product promised not only to keep the colour but also to moisture & repair the tresses. All you have to do is apply the mask evenly to washed and towel-dried hair before combing through and leaving in for 5-10 minutes. If you use it weekly you can expect for your platinum shade to stick around or you can use it even more often if you want a deeper shade. It actually works, friends! I even got asked by people if I died my hair again as the results were to be seen after a first wash.

I’m always in a look for a new shampoo for silver hair and just by looking at that deep purple colour of REF343 Silver shampoo you can tell that it’s going to get rid of those yellow tones immediately. Be aware that it might dry your hair slightly, but then again- all purple shampoos do. Just use your favourite conditioner, apply some treatment oil after a wash & you’ll be fine. The smell of this product can feel a bit intense, but I actually loved it!

Keeping that perfect platinum blonde shade might seem like a lot of work, but with the right products it’s possible and even fun!
