To start your consulting business tho, you will need to go through some of the technical aspects first. Let’s dive in:
1. Decide on a clear niche
Don’t try and offer something for everyone. Pick a clear niche in your field of expertise and stick to it. For example, if you are an accountant, don’t just aim to get each of the clients that need accounting services, instead try to narrow your niche and offer your services to:
• Freelance graphic designers • Beauty salon owners • Lifestyle coaches etc.
This way, you will be able to have a clear idea of how to market your services and what are the main pain points of your clients when it comes to accounting.
2. Launch a website
This is a must. You need to show up as a professional if you want to be hired. Set up a WordPress website (follow this tutorial to do it in a matter of minutes), install a premade theme to get that sleek look & start loading it with useful content and services. 3. Get On Social Media
There are many aspiring coaches and consultants that are currently rocking their expertise by sharing it with the world on Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest.

4. Make Sure You Have The Right License
Make sure to obtain any local or national licenses that you might need, as well as pay careful attention to any laws, this is especially important if you will be operating your consulting business from home. I’m sure you won’t need to go through a lot of paperwork for this, but giving a call to the authorities just to double-check is a great idea.
5. Keep On Giving
If you want to be hired – you need people to trust you. Don’t aim to land the first deals straight away, to begin with – focus on giving. You can give your free tips in exchange of reviews of your services, you can start a newsletter list and share weekly resources with your audience, you can build trust by creating a thriving community on social media. Whatever way you choose – just keep on giving content to your people & they will soon start converting into clients!
