This post is a big joy for me. I’m a complete technology nerd and every new piece of electronics I buy makes me weirdly too happy. especially when it comes to cameras.

I’ve been using DSLR cameras for about 8 years now. and for the moment I thought I would never go back to using anything else. however, with technology improving so fast I just absolutely fell in love with all those tiny compact cameras market has to offer. I didn’t really plan to buy anything anytime soon, but every time I’ve been visiting electronics shops I would get my hands on some compact cameras and dreamt of finding a perfect one. And then this happened. I’ve been reading through my favourite blogs when I stumbled upon Rosie’s review  on this tiny, but so powerful buddy called Sony RX100m2. this was when I knew that this was it. I just had to have it.

so after reading hundreds of reviews and watching youtube videos for days I just decided- now or never and purchased one myself. I order it just before the New Years Eve, so I had to wait for 3 days to arrive. I know it doesn’t seem too long, but when it comes to ordering new gear- I become really inpatient.

but then this was over and Mr. Postman arrived by my door with a nicely packed box I was absolutely freaking happy. my hands were shaking a bit when I was opening the package and when I saw this tiny little camera that I knew will become my bff in no time.

so the camera is absolutely amazing. I was so impressed by how well it shoots in the dark. the sensor is HUGE. seriously, all these pics were taken when Brighton was covered in dark clouds awaiting for the storm to come and I just couldn’t believe how much light it manage to capture. the controls are so easy as well. I’ve been using Canon cameras all this time, but Sony rx100m2 is so easy to navigate that only took me a couple of days to get used to it. It’s amazing how much freedom the controls give, but if you don’t have experience in setting up the camera yourself, or you just saw something beautiful and want to capture it quickly- you can just use auto settings and your pictures will be just as good.

did I already mentioned how tiny it is? well it’s almost the size of my iphone and you can keep it in your pocket or a clutch with no trouble. the size was actually one of the first reasons why I started thinking about getting a compact camera. DSLR’s are great, but I would never take one with me on the casual occasions and this is a huge loss. I mean, how many beautiful moments we miss, just because we didn’t bother to take our cameras with us? I know the iphones are great for capturing random moments, but it’s just not the same. so when it comes to Sony Rx100m2- I now don’t have to worry at all, I take it everywhere I go- even if it’s just a quick coffee break. it’s also really silent and doesn’t have that annoying loud ‘click’ that all DSLR’s has, so you can take cheeky pictures of everyone with no shame.

and now the best part for bloggers- it has a built-in Wi-fi! this means, that you can transfer your pictures from the camera to your computer or smartphone in seconds and no cables are needed. i believe it took me about 10 seconds to transfer about 15 pictures to my iphone, that’s just how fast it is! so since the moment you took a picture it can be on your Instagram in less than a minute, how cool is that? you can also control the camera with your phone, so when it comes to taking selfies- it’s more than useful.

new camera also deserves new accessories, right? I got this simple sony rx100m2 camera case on amazon and a red shoulder strap  from ebay. the strap is a bit too wide for the tiny camera, but I ordered another one that should come in few weeks. I still be using this one for our canon DSLR as its quality is amazing  and it also just looks nice, ha!

I’m so excited to have this little beauty in my life now, we are heading to Austria on Sunday, so I promise a lot of snowy pictures when I get back!
