Can you believe it’s the last month of 2016? Boy, it went fast, huh? I absolutely love setting new goals during December & taking my time to rewind. It’s the best time for us to refresh, catch up on all of those tasks we haven’t accomplished yet & get ready to rock the heck out of the New Year. Let me share some tips + tricks that will help you prepare for a new year of blogging.
It’s the time to look through the stats & see what you did right or maybe not so much. Go ahead and analyse your Google Analytics, see which months got most views or what topics your readers loved the most. Or, if you haven’t been using GA yet, it’s just the right time to set those up, go ahead and follow this tutorial.
Rethink Your Goals + Strategies
Blogging is a never ending work & you always have space to improve. End of the year is the perfect time to reflect and set yourself a new direction. If you’ve been planning to get rid of a certain topic you’re not really enjoying- go for it. If you feel lost & overwhelmed tho, I’d suggest you first work on determining your own success. You have to know where you stand & what YOU want to achieve in order to plan further. Read: Find Your Ultimate Blogging Goal.
Clean Up
Growing up, my mum believed in the importance of cleaning up the whole house before Christmas. She explained that this way we can start fresh for the New Year and in general- it’s always more fun to celebrate Christmas in a clean house. Make sure to perform the cleanup on your blog too! Delete all unused plugins, get rid of those old ads or take new headshots!
Relaunch Fresh
I don’t think it’s a great idea to change your blog’s design very often, but a fresh look is so necessary & there’s no better time to do this than December. Get yourself a new blog design theme or arrange a custom layout project for yourself. You worked your butt off this year & you deserve to take a professional step now! Go for it!
Create a Content Calendar
December is the best time to plan ahead while staying cosy under the blanket with your new yearly planner. Go ahead and put all of your ideas on paper. Plan your blog’s content ahead for at least few months & set a new challenge for each of them. This way, you will be more focused & strategic throughout the whole year.
Bring New Income Streams
If you are not making any income from your blog just yet- NOW it’s the time to start making it happen. Or, if you’ve already worked out some ways to monetize your blog- you can easily bring a new way to the mix. Think about new products or services you could offer or new ways to approach sponsors, the sky has no limits when you’re a blogger!
Take a Break
Allow yourself to finally take a break, it’s crucial. The time during Christmas & New Years Eve is the time when everyone tends to spend less time on their computers & you should really get the most out of it. Relax, spend time with your loved ones or go on a trip! You’ll be back with the bang, I promise.
Hope you enjoyed this post, lovelies! Let me know what ways you’re going to get yourself ready for a new year!
