There’s no better season for discovering ginger than autumn. Not only am I planning to have some cozy nights with a cup of ginger tea, I also tend to have way more guests over during the season. It’s no secret that my guests almost never say no to a good cocktail… As for me, I’m always in look for a new mixer and some homemade lemonade is usually a winner when it comes to whiskey or bourbon drinks. Trust me, there’s nothing better than refreshing lemons + spicy ginger flavours with a kick, poured over ice in a tall glass!


What you’ll need:
• 5 large lemons
• 1 small cup of sugar
• 1 large root of ginger (depends on how spicy you like it!)
• some fresh basil to garnish

How to prepare:
• cut ginger in slices, mix with sugar and pour over 3 glasses of water
• bring it to boil in a small saucepan. let it boil for a few minutes, take off from the heat and let it rest for 20-30 mins.
• strain out ginger pieces
• take a large glass/plastic bottle and pour your sirup in, squeeze lemon juice, add 2-3 extra cups of water. shake it well, then go ahead and taste it! it’s up to you to make it perfect!

Serve over some ice in a large glass and garnish with some fresh basil. Add some liqueur if you’re feeling like an extra kick, grab a book, a friend or pick a movie and enjoy!
