I’m writing this post covered in blankets after a great celebration last night and too much champagne. I believe we all are in no rush to start 2015 and January first should be all about reflections. I look back to what happen in the past 12 months and smile. It’s been one of the best years and I had so much exciting things happen to me. I could really feel myself growing this year in my relationship, career and personality. If only I could learn to appreciate all of those things without being scared or giving up on new opportunities just because I don’t believe in myself sometimes. I dedicate next year to happiness. I want to leave doubts, complains and anxiety behind me. I wanna learn to love unconditionally, work with a meaning and enjoy giving instead of getting. I’m on my way…
I did a round-up post last year too, but mostly talked about my blog life. This year I believe I’ve had so much more going on away from my laptop screen and I decided to share some of my year highlights with you all. Hope you’ll enjoy this:
MY FIRST EVER SKIING TRIP:
I started my year with a trip to Austria with the boy & our beloved friends. It was an absolute blast! I have never tried skiing before and to be honest, didn’t expect it could be that much fun. Now I totally get why people get addicted to mountains. We’re giving this another go this month too and traveling to concur the Alpes of France. I wouldn’t mind this becoming a yearly thing!
MY WORK = MY LIFE:
This year was the year of growth, that’s for sure. I managed to successfully run my ETSY shop and got to work with so many talented bloggers out there. I couldn’t feel more blest with what I’m doing as my job and I can feel myself learning new things daily and still having so much more to look forward to in the future. I also lunched my website, started developing responsive themes for WordPress and I believe my other work has really reached another level. I know that where is still so much more I have to improve, but it’s amazing to see how far I’ve come.
In blogging world, this year I got to work with so many amazing brands and connected with so many of you through social media. It’s crazy to see my followers growing and it all feels a bit surreal that what started as a hobby is now becoming my life. Thanks to you all, I promise to be more consistent this year with documenting my journey.
ROADTRIP TO SCOTLAND:
In March a group of 14 friends rented a couple of mini vans and drove all the way from Brighton to Glencoe just so we all could have a barbecue on the mountains. This was absolutely one of the most fun trips I have ever experienced. Even though my dissertation deadline was just in a couple of weeks, all of those lovely chaps in this group made it a definite highlight of my year!
ROADTRIP TO DORSET:
In May we also had a short roadtrip to Dorset which was amazing. It was also the first time I ever camped in UK. My university stuff was handed in and I could have finally relax with my friends and the boyo while enjoying some nature. Who wouldn’t love that?
GRADUATION:
That’s right! I managed to graduate from University of Sussex this summer and this opened a new page in my life. I’m done with education for now and I couldn’t be prouder for successfully graduating while at the same time managing my business and a bunch of other stuff. It’s been tough, but I can now look at that diploma and remind myself that everything is possible if you force yourself to work hard and don’t let yourself to give up.
LITHUANIAN SUMMER:
So after we moved to UK in 2010 I haven’t spend a proper summer back home. We visited for a few weeks or so, but it was never enough. Believe me, it’s one of the greatest things to be spending a summer in a country where people just forget about work during this season. Everyone’s traveling, making barbecues, going to music festivals and catching up with friends. I had so much fun and this was what I really needed after that hard work during the first half of 2014.
MOVING TO VILNIUS:
Me and the boy had a plan to move back to Lithuania for quite a while now. However, the timing never seemed right. Our original plan was to move some time in early 2015, but it all changed once we realised that in order for us to be happy, we must act now. So quite randomly we decided that Vilnius is a place for us at this time in our lives and thus we didn’t wait any longer. We both wanted to fully work for ourselves, enjoy more nature, spend more time with our families and friends back here and that’s how we started September in our new flat here in the old town of Lithuania’s capital. It’s been amazing so far, the vibe is great and I couldn’t be happier about this decision.
OH, MALLORCA:
The boy’s sister got married this summer and we were invited to join a brand new family on a trip to Mallorca. Both of the families from groom’s and bride’s sides arrived too and it’s been a lovely time with so much food, drinks and laughter. We also got some time to explore this beautiful island and took hundreds of pictures, of course!
NEW ZEALAND:
This just can’t be explained in one short posts. It’s been an incredible month. A real life changer. I got to appreciate my man more than ever, got to see the most beautiful country on this planet which also happens to be the furthest spot from our home. This means that the rest of the world is just a stone’s throw away and we can see it all!
THE BOY:
This man is and has always been my rock. I couldn’t imagine my life without him and have no idea how many of the things would be possible without his help. He is my best friend and I wouldn’t mind having him around for many, many, many years.
Here you go, friends. It might not seem much, but all of these things and events are all connecting together and will always be remembered as the best moments of my 2014. Looking back, it’s been one hell of a ride and even though it’s sad it’s now over- I believe 2015 will be even better.
Wish me luck!
