Sometimes, I feel like I’m just running through life without taking any deep breaths and that can be exhausting. There’s so much I have to do/see/learn every single day that lately, I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed. Thus, I decided to book a trip with one of my oldest friends & allow myself to recharge. This time in Greece was all about that- late night talks, sleep-ins, slow hikes and audiobooks.

We’ve met up in Bergamo, Italy at first as my friend was coming from East Midlands and we wanted to find the destination that fits us both. After a day of shopping & eating delicious Italian food, we were then on our way to Rhodes island in Greece.

Rhodes island is an amazing holiday destination if you’re in need of some proper beach time with a spice of adventure. We were staying at Amathus Beach Hotel and were treated so nicely by their staff, I’d go back in a heartbeat!

As much as I enjoy unlimited cocktails by the pool, we were also keen to explore the island at least for a bit and managed to see quite a lot a few days we’ve been there. If you’re planning your trip to Rhodes soon, don’t miss your chance to visit:

• Rhodes Old Town- many of Rhodes tourist attractions can be found within the walls of the Medieval City. You can walk within this picturesque town with the small alleys and the traditional buildings. The main road that crosses the medieval town is called the Street of Knights. It is a very well-preserved street that starts from the Archaeological Museum and ends at the Palace of the Grand Master.

• Faliraki– it is a village and seaside resort on the east coast of the Greek island of Rhodes. It’s known for its long sandy beach and lively nightlife.

• Lindos– it is one of those towns you instantly fall in love with. We’ve only got to spend a few hours here, but its cosiest little streets and refreshing sea water have now stuck in our minds forever.

• Acropolis of Lindos–  if you’re looking for more incredible views, make sure to climb all the way up to Acropolis for a breathtaking experience.

It’s funny how just a few days can bring back everything you’ve lost along the way. Taking a break is amazing, but finding yourself back on track is even better.
