You probably already know my love for making lists and setting goals for yourself. I posted a number of goals on September 1st and I believe January is just the right time to reflect & start further achievements.
In my previous post I have separated my work into two parts Blog + Business. Even though I try to bring them closer together, these two areas still require different needs and ambitions.
Let’s discuss what I’ve focussed on for the last 4 months:
I hope to actually start blogging consistently. At the moment I still blog without planning, just when I feel like it. I believe the time has come for scheduling posts again and blogging daily, or at least 3-4 times a week.
I’m happy to say that I’ve managed to stick to this goal and almost every week I managed to bring at least 2-3 posts for my readers. This wasn’t as hard as I thought, once you get into that blogging routine it gets so much easier. I’m in the blogging state of mind constantly these days- planning & scheduling my posts for the upcoming weeks.
I’d also like to double my social media game. At this point I mostly focus on Instagram & Facebook, but would really like to get into Twitter & Pinterest.
My Instagram + Facebook pages grew significantly during the last 4 months & I now feel way more confident about my Twitter following. I transferred communication with my customers directly through tweets and this brought attention from other users too. Concurring Pinterest is still in the future plans.
Double my monthly pageviews.
To be honest with you, I wasn’t expecting this, but I actually achieved this goal! I just checked my Google Analytics dashboard and despite a little drop in December’s views, I actually had doubled my pageviews during the fall.
Collab with other bloggers (get in touch if you’d like to work with me!)
Sadly, this didn’t really happen although I worked with a bunch of talented bloggers on completing their blog designs. Can we all agree to call that a collaboration then, haha?
Get a new camera! I’m thinking about Sony A7.
Still didn’t happen, but I’m working on it.
Fear less, risk more.
My confidence really blossomed during the last few months and I couldn’t be happier. I stopped thinking about what others would say and started trusting my guts more.
Dedicate at least 1 full day a week for blog related tasks only. During this day, I hope to prepare and schedule my posts, instagram entries, take pictures, read other blogs & just truly enjoy whatever I am doing without getting distracted by other things.
Although I didn’t dedicate a full working day for blog only, but I definitely focussed on my blog more, so it might just what works better for me right. In fact, I now spend a bit extra time on my blog once I get back home from the office. I put my favourite series on and focus on blogging connections and inspirations only.
Keep focussed. At the beginning of this year, I divided my blog posts into categories. However, some weeks I’d go with only making food related posts and then the rest of the topics kind of get abandoned. I’d love to bring some harmony into this place and keep every topic as consistent as possible.
This definitely happened. I grew my business and blogging tips sections as well as improved my #ootd posts, featured beauty products regularly and even created a NYC Travel Guide for you all. I might have skipped on the food section a bit, but nobody is perfect, right?
Continue having steady income. It’s been a blast seeing my business bringing me steady paycheque every month. I hope for it to stay this way or even better- grow further. + By the end of October, exceed last year’s income.
This actually happened and I couldn’t be prouder! In fact, I managed to reach my goal by the mid of October and continued to grow for the rest of the year.
Start design related blog as part of my website. + Provide my customers with better service. Create some tutorials + video explanations.
I started a TUTORIALS page on my website where I already shared some useful tips + tricks on building your blog. I’ve also made a couple of video tutorials for installing blog design templates + formatting your blog posts.
Start a mailing list (it’s crazy that I haven’t done it yet, shame on me).
Oh yes! My mailing list is now my number one passion and hopefully it will grow significantly during 2016. I also started a free resources library for bloggers + entrepreneurs with a growing number of useful printables for those who subscribe to my mailing list:
Improve my Worpdress game, start offering migration services + Update all the older themes + Develop at least 1 new theme for both Blogger & Worpdress every month.
All of my Blogger Templates are now completely updated and I will be dedicating the next few months to make them all available for WordPress. My current WordPress themes have developed a lot since September, the now have way more functionality and are easier to manage. There’s still space for improvement and I’m excited to adapt my growing knowledge in building new designs for you, friends.
Get a new laptop. My current one is really dragging me down.
I didn’t have to! Apple service took care of this for me by cleaning my old laptop and updating few things here & there. It’s now working like new. I also got myself an external display just so I can keep my work as productive as possible.
Stay focussed & put my customers first.
My customers could probably say more about this, but I hope that I did my best in keeping them happy. I’m no longer taking a few custom design clients at once. I had to raise my prices because of this, but I truly believe in quality over quantity.
So here it is, friends.
I believe I did pretty well in accomplishing my goals. Hope you enjoyed reading my comments and now it’s the time to set goals for the future!
I’m combining my blog + biz goals this year as I want to bring these 2 areas closer together and build 1 consistent brand.
1. Blog no less than 3 times a week + make a round-up post every Sunday.
2. Evolve Free Resources Library and build strong mailing list.
3. Complete developing all WordPress Themes.
4. Bring at least 3 new designs to the shop.
5. Focus on Pinterest. I heard a lot on how helpful Pinterest can be in bringing traffic to your blog + website and I finally hope to master it!
6. Get a new camera, improve photography + editing skills. This one stays.
7. Read at least 3 books on business management + brand building.
8. Start research & preparation work for building an E-course.
9. Be more organised and focussed on my tasks. Make weekly/monthly goals to stay on track.
10. Improve monthly pageviews by at least 25%.
What do you guys think? Do my goals look manageable to you? I hope you stay by my side for the next 3 months and help me to complete them all!
