Living in Europe is just perfect for short city breaks. All of the historic capitals are just short fly away and it’s silly not to take advantage of this. Thus last week, me & the boy run away to the other side of Baltic sea for some quality time together. It was a blast!
Our first stop was actually in Sweden, so don’t get mistaken by the title of this post. A friend of ours recommended a sauna by the sea which seemed to be like a great experience. I also couldn’t resist the idea of visiting some well-known Swedish clothing & interior brands.
Malmo really impressed us. It was a perfect day walking around town, shopping and trying out some Scandinavian cuisine. Of course, we also visited the sauna before stopping by a cozy restaurant Söder-Om-Småland. It was a perfect end of the day with some amazing food and locally brewed beer.Next day we took a train to Copenhagen to begin our adventure.
We had our room booked at Woodah, a cozy place really close to the station and city centre. Once we settled in, we headed out to the city for some late lunch. We were about to meet with a friend living in Copenhagen and she recommended burger joint called “Cock’s & Cows“. We sat outside and ordered some burgers and curly fries. The atmosphere was amazing and food was really great. Portions are massive by the way!Just look at dem fries. Who could say ‘no’ to this?We then had a good walk around the centre and also visited Christiania which reminded me of some weird Amsterdam & Camden Town combo. Living in both of those at some point of my life, it was a nice nostalgic moment to me.We ended our evening with some elderflower cider by the canal at the Kayak Republic. The staff was lovely and we got to sum up our day in a very restful environment.Next morning we really didn’t have any particular plan and somehow ended up visiting Copenhagen’s zoo. I have never really been in a large one before and well I’m a cheesy tourist like that, haha.Of course I had to stop by “& Other Stories” shop too. I will share what I got there in my #ootd posts with you all!Dinner called for some more food by the canal! We stopped by Condesa basically because of their location, but got super satisfied by their menu too. You get to pick a selection of tacos with some ice cold beer, nothing could be better after a long day of walking & shopping. After supper we continue to explore the city till the late hours and made promise to each other to come back some time soon. Next morning, we jump onto a train to the airport which only took around 15mins & ended our journey with some detox drinks from Joe & The Juices, perfect after all those beers and burgers we had in the past days!
Copenhagen is amazing, I wish I could have seen more of it!
It’s going firmly on my list of places to visit properly.
