Coffee is my one and only love when it comes to morning beverages. During the years, I went from being a coffee addict and drinking way too many cups a day to giving it up completely and replacing it with herbal teas. However, nothing could bring me as much joy as a hot, black cup of goodness on my morning table. These days I only allow myself one cup of strong black coffee before my morning work out and I believe in doing it in style. My beloved friends got me this Chemex coffee brewing kit for my birthday and I’ve been using it ever since and loving it. CHEMEX delivers the purest flavor experience while its filters are 20-30% heavier (more absorbent) to remove undesirable sediment particles and oils. Chemex filters were scientifically formulated to permit proper infusion time while filtering out sediment, oil, and fats. Infusion gives coffee a richer flavor and makes possible the fractional extraction of only the desirable parts of the coffee bean. It really brings the best taste and experience to my morning routine! Here it’s how:
Get your Chemex coffee maker. Open the filter and place it in the Chemex with the layered side toward the spout. Heat your water. I usually use about 40g of regular grind Coffee, but you can also use drip grind, although it will increase brewing time.

Wet the grounds with about 100 grams of water (about twice as much water as coffee grounds). Wait for about 30-40 seconds for the coffee to bloom. You should see some bubbles emerge from the grounds.

Your home should start smelling amazing just about now.

You should then pour the remaining water in a circular motion in the center of the grounds. Avoid pouring water toward the edges, as the water will run down the outside of the Chemex wall without extracting the coffee properly.

Once the stream of coffee exiting the filter slows to a drip, you can remove the filter, grounds and all, and dispose of it

Now you’re ready to serve and enjoy! Once you tried it this way, you’ll never look back. Have some of your favorite breakfast and enjoy this moment before heading off to work/school or back to bed, haha!
