Last week, I & the boy flew over to Berlin for a quick visit & had the best time ever…

We arrived in Berlin late on Tuesday, just in time for a quick street food dinner in Kreuzberg. We booked our hotel on Booking.com which was very close to Checkpoint Charlie, so we needed to take a quick metro drive down to the heart of Kreuzberg for a delicious stop at Mustafa’s Gemuese Kebabs. Luckily, VisitBerlin team kindly got us covered with Berlin Welcome cards. These made getting around so much easier.
Post dinner, we enjoyed the nightlife of Kreuzberg stopping by the coolest Clash pub and historical Yorckschlosschen jazz club. Kreuzberg is full of quirkiest places for a night out, so make sure to pay a visit if you’re around.
The next morning, after a walk around the neighbourhood and stopping by to see the remainings of the Berlin Wall, we made our way to Johannisstrasse for the loveliest brunch at House of Small Wonder. This place impressed me so much, folks! Their Wasabi spices Egg Benedicts simply blew my mind & I now wish I could eat these every single day for the rest of my life… They were THAT good!
After getting our bellies full, we were ready to keep exploring, so we went off to Augustrasse.

Following the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the subsequent reunification of Berlin, Auguststraße in Berlin-Mitte has been able to establish itself as a gallery district.
We enjoyed the vibe of the street so much and during the fall, with all the golden leaves, the street becomes even more artistic. You will fall in love instantly, I promise.
While down there, we’ve also stopped by Do You Read Me? bookshop for a quick look around. They have all of the best magazines & books in their selection, so even the pickiest reader would be able to find something for themselves. Definitely worth paying a visit!
Craving for some more shopping kicked in, so we also made our way to Alexanderplatz which is said to be the largest square in Germany & is super lively. With so many shops & restaurants to choose from it also has a great many great tourist attractions within walking distance. Such a great location to stop by while exploring Berlin’s eastern centre.
Afterwards, we took a metro to see The Brandenburg Gate which is one of the most iconic sights in the city. More than just Berlin’s only surviving historical city gate, this site came to symbolise Berlin’s Cold War division into East and West – and, since the fall of the Wall, a reunified Germany.
Sadly, the sky turned a bit grey, so we decided to make a quick stop for a drink and we chose just the cosiest spot for this. Bose Buben Bar is the best place for a warm up if you’re around Mitte. They offer a great selection of drinks, coffee, cakes and more! We chatted for a good hour and the rain stopped, so we were ready to visit another iconic spot in Berlin- East Side Gallery.
Once it was the Berlin Wall. Now it’s the longest open-air gallery in the world. Immediately after the Berlin wall came down, 118 artists from 21 countries began painting the East Side Gallery, and it soon officially opened as an open-air gallery. This is really a stunning place & I was really astonished to see it live.
The wall is 1,3km long, so it made it into a perfect pre-dinner walk.
For dinner, we decided to try some Korean food and ended up at SEOULKITCHEN. Rumor has it, Berlin is currently in a Korean food craze, so the place is usually packed. We were lucky to arrive pretty early & get the table. The food was just SO GOOD, I can’t even explain this properly, you’ll just have to give this a go yourself… So make sure to bookmark this spot if you’re planning your trip to Berlin soon!
We then ended our evening in Mitte, exploring the hidden bars of the city and let me tell you0- nightlife in Berlin is something else. Everyone is so free & ready to have the best time. I don’t think you can feel this vibe anywhere else… I already can not wait to go back there again!
