If there’s one social media platform that I’m addicted to it’s definitely Instagram. I’m scrolling through my feed ALL the time & I can’t remember a day I went without posting on there. I recently hit 5k mark on Instagram. To celebrate that, I thought I’d share some tips with you all on improving your feed.
Here are five ways to improve your Instagram feed:
USE VSCO APP
I don’t know where have you been for the last few years if you are not using VSCO app yet. It offers the most amazing filters & editing options. Some even say that using VSCO app for taking your images is better than using your actual camera app. I can’t guarantee on this, but it’s worth giving it a try!
I noticed that images with more winning captions get a better response. Instagram is supposed to be a highly visual type of social media, but adding a personal story behind the shot will take you a long way. Look at this as a micro-blogging platform where you can tell your short stories, share tips & make friends.
SOCIALIZE
Talking about making friends… Let me tell you one thing, the number of your followers doesn’t matter if there’s no communication. Make sure you visit your fans’ pages & leave a nice comment or two. Say hi, be friendly! After all, it’s called social media for a reason!
THINK OUT OF THE BOX
All of those flat lay images might look cute, but isn’t that what everyone’s doing? I’m no exception! I love taking snaps of things that are close to me & I can stay in my pyjamas for a shoot. However, try & take yourself out of your comfort zone. Go for a hike, take a trip & don’t forget to take your camera with you. I bet your followers will love seeing you explore the world! A strong base of my followers came from me travelling around New Zealand or NYC.
STAY CONSISTENT
Your Instagram, just as your blog, must be consistent in order to grow. Once I follow a new person, I’d love to see a new post from then in a day or two. Otherwise, I’d simply forget why I followed in the first place. These days I try & post at least 1-2 times daily. If you prefer taking pictures in advance, I’d suggest using Lategram for scheduling!
