The funny thing about success is that more than often we focus on adding new things into our days that are supposed to make us better. However, sometimes giving up our old habits is just what we need to do in order to take that next big step towards our future.

Finding Excuses

When people get in touch and ask for that ONE advice I’d give to anyone looking to start a blog, my answer is very simple- you have to stop making excuses and do something to make it happen.

Look, you can plan all you want, but in reality, it only keeps you away from actually becoming successful online. Anyone you know that’s already rocking their presence has started from big, round ZERO.

They didn’t have fancy equipment, they didn’t have crazy sponsorship deals or were overbooked with client work.

Most of these people just went for it without a business plan or in fact, any plan at all. They just wanted to share their thoughts and their knowledge. Some of them failed, but that’s 100x times better than not trying at all!

Let me tell you one thing- if you’re deeply passionate about something, you have to stop making excuses and begin telling your story instead.

Remember my word- a year from now you’ll wish you had started today & deep down you know this for yourself. The sooner you’ll discover your biggest passions and dreams, the better.

Blaming Others

Successful people know that they are the ones responsible for their life, no matter their starting point, weaknesses, and surroundings.

Realizing that you are responsible for what happens next in your life is the most empowering thing you can do for your career. Stop blaming others for your own mistakes, you know you’re the only one that can turn any situation around and focus on that!

Leaving Things For Tomorrow

Another unproductive thing we all tend to do is leave things for tomorrow. We all have 24 hours in a day and it’s in our hands to take the best out of it. Of course, I admit that sometimes we can’t complete every single task in just a day, but the one thing we can do- at least take a step forward.

Whenever you want to just give up and end your day binge-watching the same TV show over & over again, think about even the tiniest thing you can do towards improving yourself or your business.

Here are some things you can do TODAY to quickly turn your day upside down:

• Meditate
• Exercise
• Experiment in the kitchen
• Start reading a new book
• Register for an online course
• Listen to a useful podcast episode
• Take small steps to optimize your business
• Connect with someone that inspires you

You see, it doesn’t have to be anything major, but it will already take you at least a step closer towards your dream.

Not Believing In Yourself

Cut yourself some slack. Continually seeing yourself as a failure is the worst thing you can do.

If you don’t believe in yourself, then who will?

The best thing about your mindset is that you can always change it. It’s that simple. Just put your mind to it & learn to appreciate the work you do.

Short-term Mindset

This is a huge one, folks. Everything, seriously, everything that happens with my business is closely linked to our own feelings.

I’m saying this from my own experience. When I don’t feel motivated- I might not blog as much, when I feel unsafe financially, I would go ahead and take too many projects upon and as much as I hate admitting this it isn’t great approach towards the business. This is a short-term mindset and I have to remind myself to make smarter decisions.

I want you guys to make long-term, business-minded decisions & really think about the big picture. You have to understand that running your own business is like running a marathon. Maintaining the sprint pace during a marathon indefinitely is impossible. Even trying to maintain that sprint pace is a set up for burnout. I would much rather have a fulfilling year than have a super successful month and then be so exhausted and burned out that all I want to do is lie down on the floor and look at the ceiling.

Make plans, set goals, work on improving your skills and just keep going, my friend. You’ll get there, I promise!
