This is it folks, we’re now officially in the last quarter of the year and the time has come to get sh*t done, huh? Before we role up our sleeves and get down to business, let’s catch up with what’s been going on in third quarter. I hope you enjoyed my Q1 report & Q2 report I’ve already shared with you all this year, I love sharing my growth with you all.
I truly believe that sharing is caring. Reading income + brand reports by other bloggers helped me big time on improving myself. For this reason, I decided to share my Blog + Business reports, so that my customers and readers can get a better idea of the behind the scenes of Kotryna Bass Blog + Design.
The greatest news is- this quarter I’ve already exceeded my last year’s income which takes of a pressure from last quarter by quite a bit.
For all of those wondering how the heck I made money from my blog + biz during Q2 here are all of my sources:
Design Shop– 61%
ETSY– 9%
Affiliate Income- 22%
Blog Consulting– 6 %
Other- 2%
Total passive income: 85%
I’m so thrilled to see my Affiliate income grew by 5% this quarter. I wish to increase this even further in the future & I’ve been reading on this topic A LOT.
I feel like this is the field I wish to grow in. I want to share my expertise and guide my audience to the products or services that can actually make everyone’s life at least a tiny bit easier.
My passive income this quarter reached 85% which is CRAZY. I love working on my Custom Blog Design projects or Blog Consulting, but let’s be honest… Making money while you sleep is pretty awesome too, huh?
Alright, so I really went all in this quarter when it comes to expenses. I signed up for quite a few online courses, got a new laptop & a new phone. These to me are not pleasure expenses at all. If it wasn’t for blogging, I think I’d be pretty alright with an old Nokia, but I really want to deliver the best quality images & content possible, therefore- I finally decided to invest in my gear. I don’t believe in star signs that much, but I’m a Libra and it sometimes takes ages for me to decide in big purchases, but I’ve been using my new laptop for a few weeks now & have NO IDEA why I’ve been neglecting this for so long…
OK, so here’s a lesson for you. You don’t have to make this mistake yourself & you can learn from me here & now. If you’re trying to run an online business, you HAVE TO invest. Look, I’ve been telling to myself that my old laptop is working “just fine” for months… Not sure if waiting for Photoshop to open for 5 minutes can be considered as “just fine” tho.
The funny thing is, in the first week of working with the new tech I completed more tasks than in the whole month of August and well… that proves my point better than anything else, huh?
Invest In Your Dream. Grind Now. Shine Later.
This doesn’t apply to financial investments only. If you feel stuck at growing your online business, blog or anything you’re currently working on- make sure to actually commit. Read, learn new things, dedicate your time and it will pay off, I promise you!
Traffic on my design website has been growing every month & I’m beyond excited to see the new results. No surprise, my income has been growing steadily as well. This quarter, I started to focus on the blog more tho & I hope to continue on this in the next few months.
I have a pretty weird relationship with my blog currently… I love learning new blogging tips + tricks, but I also want to share my actual story with you all. Thus, if you have any questions or requests for new, maybe a bit more personal type of posts- make sure to leave a comment or send me an e-mail if you don’t feel like doing it publicly.
To be honest with you all, I decided to stop counting my social media stats.
I don’t feel like this habit serves me anymore and I noticed that some of the people out there keep following/unfollowing accounts just for the sake of being followed back and this can be very misleading. Don’t get me wrong, I often check out my audience and make sure to show some love, follow, comment if I see anything I like. I’m all about finding true, honest people online, but I don’t want to follow anyone just because I’m afraid to loose a NUMBER.
I realised how pointless this is and I now, more than ever, want to focus on getting to actually know the audience I already have.
Yes, I loose followers almost every single day, but guess what- I get new ones too! I recently realised that this is absolutely OK & it happens to all of us. It doesn’t define me or my business in anyway and I refuse to worry about the numbers for even a second now.
Good old newsletter, oh you’ve been a bit forgotten this quarter, huh? I’m so, so sorry about this my dear friend & I promise to give you more attention. I’m thinking of starting with a weekly newsletter on Friday where I’ll share my inspirations, news and maybe a few embarrassing stories. You know you want to hear it all: JOIN TODAY!
The best thing about this quarter was that I got to travel every couple of weeks and my business didn’t collapse. I now feel confident about taking a step back from my business when I have to and I know that it will continue to run smoothly.
I am also so, so excited to see my affiliate income growing, if you’re looking to get into the field as well, make sure to check out this post.
You see, in the world of freelancing, I don’t think one could ever be fully satisfied. I feel like I will always have something I want to improve here on the blog or my design business, but I’m now in the process of learning to feel grateful for what I already have. It’s all about the journey, right?
I am absolutely obsessed with my new prescription glasses! I’ve been looking for transparent framed eyeglasses online for ages now and I’m so glad I’ve found the most perfect pair!
