I can’t believe I started my blog all the way back in 2013. It’s been a very interesting journey so far & I’m very excited to see how far I’ve come. Today, I’d like to share ten essential things I have learned in the last four years of blogging. Let’s go!
You might also like:
1. Having a plan is SO important. In the last year, I got into a habit of planning my blog’s content quarterly. This changed everything. I now feel way more confident about my blog & I almost never run out of blog post ideas.
2. Going self-hosted is the way to success. Seriously, go ahead and move your blog to self-hosted WordPress. You won’t regret it even for a second.
3. Growing a newsletter list is crucial. I can’t believe I was so ignorant & only started my newsletter list a year go. It changed the communication with my readers completely & it’s now one of the main sales funnels I use. If you’re not building your list yet- you’re missing out big time. Start one today!
4. Less is more. Blogging 7 times a week doesn’t make any sense if you’re not bringing in the content that really matters. Quality over quantity. Always.
5. Smart bloggers invest. In the last couple of years, I started to invest into my blog. I now buy e-courses, I use reliable online services, I hired a PA, I invested into a full-frame camera, this list could go on… The thing is, once I stopped being a scrooge about my blog- my income grew significantly. Every investment I make pays itself off in no time.
6. Saying YES feels great. As a blogger, I get invited to take part in a lot of exciting projects. It might be challenging, but stepping out of my comfort zone usually feels amazing.
7. You don’t have to say YES to everything tho… Of course, you should only work with brands/clients that carry the same values as you are. Being picky is OK.
8. It’s all about the right tools. I have no idea how I even existed before without these blog + social media scheduling tools.
9. Passion is everything. You won’t get far if you don’t like what you’re doing. Find the right niche & believe in yourself.
10. Digital detox is a must. I spend way too many hours online. As much as I love my work- I know how important it is to take breaks. Try to spend at least one weekend completely offline. Leave your gadgets behind & read a book. You will get back inspired, rested & ready to rock!
