These days everyone seems to have a blog and not many really get the audience they actually deserve. From time to time I would stumble upon blogs that provide amazing content, but still lack some simple elements that could really help the blogger behind the blog to get noticed. During my not that long career in blogging, I collected some tips that I always share with people when they ask me for advice. As we all know, sharing is caring and therefore, I prepared a short list for you to follow if you want to improve your blog.

Get professional blog design.

I can’t stress enough how good design is important for maintaining a successful blog. If I visit a blog that has a messy layout with too much stuff going on, I would most definitely just turn it off without even checking out the content. When it comes to design- keep it simple. Upload large images.

I noticed that some of the bloggers tend to upload large quality pictures in a small size. What for? Embrace your photography, make your images to stand out & be proud. You can upload your images in original format on both- Blogger & WordPress platforms, see tutorials here & here.

Get a custom domain name.

It won’t take you ages to do and your blog would look way more professional with a unique domain name. I highly recommend Bluehost for this. They have the best customer service and would be happy to help with the setup process!

4. Clean up your archives.

To be honest, I still have to do this myself and so I will. During your blogging career, the quality of your content will improve, but your older posts will still be accessible to the rest of the world. Go through your archives and see what can be changed. Maybe you can upload better pictures now or add better keywords?

Get a custom header.

Stand out from the crowd! It’s important to have a great, visible header on your blog. Make sure it reflects your personality too! I can help you with that.

Focus on SEO.

It’s all known fact that search engine optimisation is the way to success, but for some reason, I can see bloggers everywhere not using correct keywords & not titling their images. Get informed and read this article now!

Add Instagram feed.

Add Facebook ‘like’ box.

Since adding Facebook like box on my sidebar, I noticed a huge increase in my Facebook following. There’re 1,5 billion monthly users on Facebook and it’s THE place for your blog to get traffic from. You can easily create facebook like box here.

Include share buttons into your posts.

Allow your readers to do the work for you and include some share buttons into your post footer. People are keen to share interesting articles they find online, you just need to make it fast & easy!

Don’t force yourself.

Others can easily feel if you’re forcing yourself to blog. If the daily blogging doesn’t work for you- find the schedule that you feel comfortable with & promise yourself to keep to it. Less is more, right?
